Academic excellence in chiropractic

“Doing what you enjoy is freedom”

A statement which holds true when it comes to my pursuit of academic excellence in Chiropractic and pain management.

There was a time after I had finished my studies and qualified as a Chiropractor that an overwhelming sense of relief at not having to study again filled the air. Initially, the thought of picking up another book or reading through another research article after completing my master’s degree was not a pleasant one. However, that mindset has changed over time, and it now seems that the craving for knowledge and the development of new skill sets has become the very thing that continues to drive me. In fact, the desire to understand the human body in more detail and to be able to offer my patients the best care possible has now become a top priority. As a result, I find myself constantly seeking out new learning opportunities and staying updated with the latest research. Moreover, this shift in perspective has not only enhanced my professional growth but has also deepened my passion for the field. Ultimately, the journey of continuous learning has become an integral part of who I am as a practitioner and as an individual.

Chiropractic continued education

Part of being a Chiropractor and a part of the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa is an obligation to ensure that we continue to learn and keep up to date on the latest research and advancements in health care. These are called Continued Education Units (CEU) and can take the form of short one hour webinars or multi day conferences.Generally speaking, 1 hour of education equates to 1 point. We are required to complete 60 points over a two year period.
